The journey is long...
but you don't have to walk alone.

Our mental health focused course is designed to merge the traditional elements of having and caring for a newborn with equipping participants with the tools and skills needed to navigate the emotional, physical, psychological, and overall impact of this journey. In addition, our course is designed to meet the needs of both the birthing and non-birthing survivor parent(s).
In Fall 2025, Cactus In Bloom will begin offering thought partnership and planning support for survivors of childhood sexual abuse/sexual violence as adults who are navigating family planning, pregnancy & postpartum, parenting, and child care.
Our Parent Support Mentors (PSM) are a team of survivor parents who act as peer mentors to offer support to new parents navigating both their individual healing and parenting. PSMs will go through training prior to taking on their role and then ongoing supervision throughout their time. PSMs support survivors who are part of the Albuca Bracteata perinatal and infant care course. We are seeking volunteers to be a Parent Support Mentors for our first cohort.
In partnership with mission aligned organizations, CIB offers special events that center awareness/skill development, access to resources, and community building.
As the CIB team trains medical, mental health, and childcare providers across Los Angeles county, we are developing a resource list for parents/caregivers to utilize to choose care that is CSA-informed, trauma-reducing, and culturally humble.
